The Power Pack for GarageKeeper is a set of enhancements to the GarageKeeper 2000 shop management system. These enhancements are provided as a memory resident program that is available while the GarageKeeper 2000 system is running. The memory resident nature of the Power Pack enables such a seamless integration, that the enhancements appear to be part of GarageKeeper itself.
In keeping with the GarageKeeper tradition, we took great pains to maintain a high level of data integrity while developing the Power Pack. To maintain data integrity, the Power Pack does not write directly to any GarageKeeper 2000 data files. Instead, all data is sent to GarageKeeper as keystrokes, just as if they we're being typed in by hand. This difference, although not visible to the user, enables GarageKeeper to maintain all data integrity and error checking.
The Power Pack will save you time, effort and money by simplifying data entry and reminding you of important information. All features and settings can be customized to suit your needs. The Power Pack includes:
A Warning when a customer is over their credit limit BEFORE creating an RO
The ability to set a customer to COD. When a customer is set to COD a warning is displayed at RO creation and the user must type `YES' before an RO can be created.
A reminder for customers that require PO numbers. When a customer is set to require a PO, a message is displayed at RO creation and a parts comment is started in order for the user to enter a PO number. The message displayed is up to user and can be disabled if required. The text sent to the beginning of the parts comment is also user configurable. With configuration flexibility, this feature can be useful for many common tasks.
The ability to have the GarageKeeper AR customer comment field brought onto an RO as a parts comment. This feature can be enabled or disabled on a per customer basis. A user specified text prefix can also be added to the comment. This features is commonly used to place a customer tax number onto to the RO, but could be used for many other purposes.
Automatically calculate and add a percentage charge based on total labor. This features is commonly known as shop supplies, and is illegal in some States/Provinces. Before using this feature, make sure that your State or Province allows the charging of shop supplies.
Automatically have the original Printed Estimate number placed on a Work Order as a parts comment.
